Agricultural film lives outdoors for months at a time, which makes it a different engineering problem than most indoor packaging. Mulch film has to resist UV degradation long enough to do its job in the field, greenhouse film has to manage light transmission while standing up to wind and temperature swings, and silage or bunker covers have to hold an airtight seal over a stored crop through an entire season of weather.
UV resistance is the requirement that shows up in nearly every product in this category. A film that performs well on day one but embrittles and cracks after eight weeks in direct sun has failed the application even if every other property was within spec. We formulate with UV stabilizer packages matched to the expected outdoor exposure window for each product, rather than applying a single generic UV package across very different use cases.
On the packaging side, bagged soil, mulch, and other lawn and garden products need film that survives warehouse handling, outdoor retail display, and the occasional rough ride on a pallet, all while printing clearly enough to sell on a garden center shelf.
