Sugar stick packaging rollstock must match the filling machine's lane layout and sealing requirements as well as the product inside. If you want paper-based laminated rollstock, send the complete layer specification or a current sample before choosing the printed design.

Prime Film reviews specialty rollstock requests alongside our printed film work. Send your sugar-stick project for review. We confirm the structure and whether a converter partner is needed before quoting production.

Paper Appearance Does Not Define the Whole Structure

Describe the finished material you need rather than ordering by the word paper alone. Identify the product-contact layer and how the package will seal. If an existing roll works, its supplier specification and label make a better starting point than a photograph of a finished stick.

Ask for documentation covering the proposed material and intended food use. Do not assume a paper face establishes the sealing behavior or the status of the complete laminate. Confirm any disposal claim separately for the finished structure.

Get the Multilane Drawing Before the Artwork

A multilane machine makes several sticks across the web. The artwork has to match that arrangement. A design that fits one finished stick can still be wrong across the full roll.

Mespack's MS1000 specification illustrates how stick-pack dimensions vary with lane configuration. It is an example of why the drawing for your own machine matters, not a compatibility statement for another model.

RequirementWhat to request from your line team
Web width and lanesTotal film width, lane arrangement and the machine's cutting layout.
Print repeatThe distance between repeated designs and the registration-mark drawing.
Material structureLayer specification, total thickness and the face that contacts sugar.
Roll setupCore size, maximum roll size and winding direction.
Seal checksAccepted sealing conditions and the filled-pack inspection plan.

Trial the Material With Sugar on the Intended Line

Agree on enough trial material to set up the machine and review filled sticks. Ask the line team to record feeding, cutting and seal results. Check how the pack opens as well as whether it closes.

Keep the trial roll's identity with the results. If the first trial is unprinted, say which print and registration checks remain. Agree on any storage testing with the people responsible for the product before treating a short line run as final approval.

Ask for Separate Trial and Repeat-Order Quotes

Request the material trial cost beside the printed production minimum. Ask what artwork or print setup is needed and which charges repeat. Include expected use over time so a large minimum does not become stock left on a shelf.

Have the supplier confirm the material source and converting responsibilities. Paper-laminated rollstock needs a structure review; its mention here is not a promise that every construction is made on our own extrusion lines.

Send Prime Film Your Sugar-Stick Brief

Include the machine make and model plus its lane drawing. Add the fill weight and current roll specification. Tell us whether you want printed or unprinted material and when the line is available for testing.

Request a sugar-stick rollstock review. Start with the trial-roll guide if some of the machine details still need collecting.
